Its like a 30 min deal to swap the rear speedo gear. Super easy. No need to drain fluid. I used rtv to put housing back on. Worst part is pulling rear drive shaft.

    Aftermarket door shells

Catbird - did you have to modify the newer door panel to work with the bricknose dash? I thought they would interfere. But ive never tried a set yet. Mike. Id try to find factory doors. Much heavier and i think you will be happier. Sturdyness is my concern. Not the fit.

    About this slip joint...

Id buy a factory ford housing and modify it for a v-band. Then sell this housing and down pipe to someone else. Guys are always looking for the ats stuff.

    Power steering issue

I go with used low mile units from 2wd f150 or rangers if i can find them. Trucks been around long enough now low mileage are hard to find.

    Bed bolt upgrade?

Both my trucks only use 6. Both are long boxes. Lots of guys use the bolt kits for the newer trucks. They put a U-nut on the frame and a torx head bolt from the top. Seems way better than the old bolts and nuts that always seem to get rusted up and take 2 guys and a torch to take off.

Interested to see where you go with the mirrors. Mounting cleanly without effectively making the a-pillar super big has always been my concern.

Interested to see what you find out here. I was just wondering how the 6.0 harness was working. My 93 lights off on a couple cylinders less than 8.

    Zombie Slayer: DNE2 Overdrive Install

My 205 wouldn't shift out of 4x4 if you weren't on pure ice or deep snow. The drive line would bind up the tranfercase pretty quick if it had too much traction.

    Zombie Slayer: DNE2 Overdrive Install

I'd skip the NP205 for a street rig. I've since removed my 205 and went to a 1356. The NP205 jams up in gear on icy mix type roads which is where I use 4x4 the most in my truck. The chain cases are easier shifting and don't jam up as easy. Now if it's an off-road rig then sure use the NP205...

New truck need help 1994 7.3 IDI Factory Turbo

I was gonna ask as I noticed the 7.3 sticker on the valve cover. Dealers diesel is an engine remanufacturer. I have one of their engines. It's been fabulous. So i would say you lucked out there assuming it wasn't abused. I'm wondering if your EGT and smoke issue is injectors or did the previous...

    extra cooling.

The 6.0 fan clutch heats up the fluid in the clutch to perform lockup if I understand it right. Ford would actually throttle lockup. Vs a Horton style clutch uses an electro magnet like an ac compressor. I don't think the clutch probably cares left or right. What was your thoughts to get the...

    Project Big Red

Mike, I'm not sure I've ever heard my fan clutch either. The truck has enough normal noise that it drowns out the fan noise in my opinion. I was working on cooling things down this summer also. I put in two bottle of redline water wetter. I thought it made a difference for me. Now it wasn't as...

    Axle questions

Those brackets are a common failure point. Hit eBay. Maybe try the ford dealer. They weren't that expensive. Hell thats a 100$ bracket from ford and some bolts.

    '93 f-350 DRW towing 15k total

I gross around 22K with my 89 F350 srw when I load my big enclosed trailer with tractors and engines for the threshing bees. Truck pulls it reasonably well. It's stable and in control or I wouldn't pull it. I can stop well, I can hold speed limit. What more do you want? Now this is with 3. 55...

    Storing an engine

I picked up a 7.3 engine from the neighbor that's completely taken apart. They had it in their shed for 15 years or so. It's not in awesome shape anymore, but how do you store it for the long haul? Block and crank are probably my two biggest concerns. They currently are wrapped in plastic bags...

    Brake line nightmare.. Need help

    1994 body on a 2010 frame?

I have a custom RSK with SD springs and my front end rides great. The rear gets bouncy especially when pulling and I'm on the overloads. I've thought about either the sulastic shackles or going to super duty springs in the rear also. I just put bilsteins in this spring. they help on big bumps...

    1994 body on a 2010 frame?

Id swap axles. Seems easier. I think the front body mounts actually line up, but after that it's all fab work. Way too much effort to me unless you're frame is junk or you're cab floor is gone. Actually mounting the engine and stuff would be the easy part. It's all the little pieces that will...
