    hydroboost or rear disc

Or you can just get a hydroboost unit out of a cheby suburban , then all you have to do is make some 2" spacer blocks to mount the booster out away from the firewall and some long bolts and it hooks right up without a fuss. No other modifications needed, at least on an OBS Did have to cut a...

Do I really need 4:10 axles?

Congrats on the young'un Set your timing at about 9.7 deg btdc by the pulse method and you'll be good to go. If you ever get a yen for a brownie, theres a yard down in OR, Andersen Bros, that has a stinkload of the things ( they're all over the place up there, folks still like to pop them on...

Do I really need 4:10 axles?

' I dont see why you couldnt switch to 3.55's' says the guy from MICHIGAN :rotflmao , heck, you could tow a house with 3.55's there, but not out where the OP lives, he lives in the HOME of auxilliary transmissions . That truck with 189k needs new ip and injectors and properly timed first...

    Taking a truck apart - '89 F250

First thing to do is get a gallon can of Kroil and pour it into a garden sprayer and shoot the whole thing down wherev you see a bolt and give it time to soak so you can save a lot of aggravation.

    Return lines leaking STILL

Try using the plain ol orings that come with the kits and NOT the viton. . The rush to viton was started by folks wanting to use alternative fuels and teh stock rings wont hold up to them, but we've been finding in this area that the viton orings leak like sieves with plain diesel. The darn...

So I went in for an alignment and....

By the way, dont get me wrong, I'm not just trying to talk you outta working on the thing, but heavy front ends can be VERY dangerous , and you generally run into all kinds of gumption traps that arent in the book requiring some serious beating and banging and torching and creative language...

So I went in for an alignment and....

The only thing that even looks remotely fishy on that estimate is the $235 tie rod end., and quite frankly considing what they're charging on teh rest of it, I wouldnt fault them a little profit . Those prices are not at all out of line. You couldnt buy the tools , bandaids and blood pressure...

Adjustable Clutch MC Pushrod for '94?

Just remove the master through teh firewall with the electrics ( unlug under teh dash( remove teh switch, twist out the old pushrod with some leverage, it's locked in there a bit . The new rod pops into place and locks in the socket as mentioned, it has an adjustment nut on it, so st the MC back...

Adjustable Clutch MC Pushrod for '94?

Should be able to get one to fit, I got one for my 92, I believe there are 2 different numbers though. You will need to grind out the housing on your starter cutout to make a relief for the adjustment locnut to fit in

So I went in for an alignment and....

I was about to say, considering parts alone would be around half of that, and the labour hours involved, that doesnt seem horribly out of line on price, heck , just teh allignment for that thing is probably around $125 min done right. You break it down, it doesnt sound unreasonable. Still...

    so... frost plugs?

You need that tool for sure, but you might *try* to get one from Rotunda first, to see if you can save $50, I say try because they have a habit of not wanting to sell to folks if they arent a shop. That's a great link, its nice to see someone is now selling the things to the public ( and we...

    Opened 10 1/4" diff..Hmmm

that loc rite is going to be a great setup. I have a couple of cars with lockers and love teh things. Before I rebuilt the clutches in my truck, I really wished that I had an open diff so I could slip one of those things in( it would have been a whole lot easier than rebuilding the posi, thats...

over speed on a non gated turbo??

Most of the time you dont start building any real serious boost till around 2k so if you were at 2500 when it kicked into 2nd you were basically dropping back down below boost level, so this is just normal behavior . you dont have the exhauxt pressure needed when the rpms drop down too far...

    What could be next!

Rotella will generally burn off faster, but I seriously doubt that it had anything to do with the sludge residue that you have built up in there, in fact, part of teh reason rotella burs off faster is that it has a rather inappropriatly large percentage of its makeup is its detergent package...

    Opened 10 1/4" diff..Hmmm

It generally only takes enough weight to assure that one tire cannot under any circumstances, break traction. The differential action is there for the simple reason that if it is not, either one tire has to slip, or an axle will breal. Something has to give. If you have both rear tires getting...

Is there away to test an IP?

That depends entirely on the relationship that you have with your local pump shop. I used to have my own repair shop and Ive done a lot of business with my friendly neighborhood pump shop, and they don't charge me but the price of parts to replace minor seals and the like. Most pump shops...

Is there away to test an IP?

Take it off , take it to a stanadyne certified pump shop. THey can hook it up to a calibration machine and see if it is putting out up to spec, but call ahead, if you arent famialiar with the folks, i.e. a regular customer, it might end up costing you. and for the amount of work involved, if...

    Opened 10 1/4" diff..Hmmm

THat welding is fine off road, some folks even get by on the pavement ..... for a while , running around empty, but ever see what happens to an axle shaft on one when someone with welded spiders decides to load the snot out of their bed , or hook up a real heavy trailer?. Suffice it to say...

    hydroboost or rear disc

By the way, I do not know if akk of the parts catalogs have been straightened out as of yet, but a couple of years ago whnen I did mine, It was completely impossible to purchase a dual return inlet rear cover for a late style power steering pump ANYWHERE, Somehow Ford screwed up the part...

No time to search, Timing ?

If you time by the pulse method, you DO NOT, need to know cetane numbers stc, that is for lumonosity testing ( with that you are actually reading the flame in the cylinder with a light sensor and timing after top dead center so cetane numbers are needed to know how fast the fuel is burning)...

BINGO! give the man a kewpie doll! THat;s been the running scam of that site the whole time. Before they'll let you register on that site , they ask a ton of personal questions , and they won't even let you register, if you actually know what the heck you are talking about. It's nothing but...

    Radiator hoses?

Actually, I have a couple hard pipe sections in my upper hose one I bought and one I had made up by my radiator guy, both are alumanum, they have fittings tapped in them for fan switches and temperature senders.. Handy setup, makes it tough to get the hose attached though. Theres enough flex for...
