    460 bbf builds

ok who has done some budget 460 builds? i am prepping one to toss into my 81 f100. engine is from an 85 f350. currently has an edelbrock performer intake with a 750 double pump, and HEI dizzy installed. not looking to go crazy nuts with it. been reading a bunch of builds but with the arguments...

0-60 video tying to compare to what yours does

looking at my time slip, essentially i did the 8th mile at 11.572, at 62 mph. so theres a close enough 0-60 time. lol

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

And yes those are 77-79 knuckles but the mounting area is the same. Ignore the steering arm mount on the f250 one

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

Ok guys, after doing some reading and looking for pics, I have found you can NOT go from 8 lug to 5 lug, but you CAN go from 5 lug to 8 lug. The issue is the knuckle itself. The 5 lug knuckle will accept the larger caliper, but the 8 lug knuckle can not. The caliper will hit. And we already know...

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

No.. the caliper mount gets swapped, as I also stated above, so you will be using the d44 single piston caliper and mount along with the smaller rotor and 5 lug hub. If I had the spare time I would yank apart my d44 5 lug and my d44hd 8 lug to show you guys

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

Considering I took 8 lug d44hd outers and put them on a d44 to convert it to 8 lug, it should work in reverse

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

Thus why I said spindle out, not bj out

Left lane. 94 ECLB 2wd dually. Banks turbo with bull moose pump. 5 speed. Hoping hard off the line.

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

Again you guys are all forgetting not every f250 4x4 was a d50. Mine is a d44hd. Same bearings, balljoints and axleshafts/housings from a d44, just has leaf perches and 8 lug rotors/dual piston caliper. I can take from the spindle out and swap it to f150/bronco outers. It's the bigger stuff that...

    Bad day for my 86

Yea gotta love pa rocks. I got lucky with it being on that flat rock. Everything went smooth on the repair other than snapping one of the lower cab bolts. It make it out with 3. Lol. As for the beard, it been there since rons Michigan rally 5 years ago. 7 months ago I cut 6 inches off it. Won...

    Bad day for my 86

No highsteer puts a lot of stress on the upper pin area. Ford knuckles are the weakest in this area and are known to do this. I run 4.10 gears. Truck works great

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

If it has a d44hd, then the 5 lug hubs should slide on over the spindles

Who has put an idi in a 92-96 bronco?

Yea it's a shame that one had an iffy frame. From tcase back it was thin. Ended up tearing it back apart

    Bad day for my 86

after a could years of sitting, I finally dug out and repaired the play toy in my dig. Well, on today's test outing, I was a little hard on it. Worst break I have ever had yet. Truck is still sitting in the woods. Going tomorrow to replace the knuckle.

    7.3 loses power

no idea on what that equates to in miles and dont care to look. pump and injector life is on average ending at 125000 miles. yes they have lasted longer but other fail before. all depends on usage and care.

    Well read drive shaft problems

i have found its a two person job. one to support and align, the other to smack it together with a board and hammer. just to get past the seal. once the seal is over the splines it goes easier.

    Easy coolant filter

ironically three of the 4 IDI's i have are the wide short rads. all non ac, all bullnose.

    Easy coolant filter

there are two different size rads. but during the IDI run they stayed the same size. so a short wide rad from a 93 will bolt into a 83 if it has the short wide rad. lol thats how they get away with just plugging that port.

    Super Moose, or RD4-180?

there are three super moose pumps out there. not sure where they are now. the reason conestoga doesnt do dyno sheets and stuff like that is he is not a performance shop. he is a pump shop that rebuild pretty much any injection pump, injector and turbo out there. he doesnt have the time or cash...
