Not having much luck with the search bar or google or youtube university.

Anyone know if there’s any special tricks/ considerations to replace valve cover gaskets and return lines with a factory turbo? I’m hoping to avoid taking the turbo off.

Also the return line kit I got off CDD comes with injector washers. Do I need to take the injectors out and replace those or am I good to keep injectors in place and just do return lines?

Thanks yall

You can do the valve cover gaskets without pulling the 093 turbo. You will have to remove the big bracket that holds the fuel filter and alternator in place though.

As for the return kit, yes you can leave the injectors in and do just the return caps and o rings.

Hardest part in my opinion is passenger side valve cover, clearance around the hvac box can be a challenge

Maybe i’ll take the front half off the HVAC box off and see if that helps at all. I just had it off when I replaced a bunch of the system and if I recall correctly it can come off with out undoing any lines. I wanted to put some strips of foam in between the case halves to seal it up a little anyways.

No I just bought it in February. I think the guy I got it from only had it a few years and I think got it with a 5th wheel camper combo so could have been owner before last if that rings a bell. Only small damage on the pass side fender though so maybe different.

Gotcha...... it might be a different one then. Are you in NW Florida? Or somewheres else?

Nah, Central FL with the big rat. I think the last owner did say this was from the panhandle though or maybe I saw that on the car fax.

copious amounts of room for the pass side valve cover with half the HVAC box taken off. Not sure how annoying it is with the air box but it doesn’t take long to take off.

Very carefully. It is a squeeze.
Well keep this nugget in the back of your head for the next time. I think was worth it. Good time to blow out the evaporator and reseal the box anyways. When I redid the AC mine had a bunch of crap in it somehow.

Unfortunately I've gone down a rabbit hole of cleaning off the valve covers and all the hardware to powdercoat them so I've turned this in to not a quick job.

At least it'll look good when it is done. Be sure to torque them correctly at a criss cross. You can over tighten them even with a 1/4 ratchet, then they'll leak.
