I currently have twin dual exhaust stacks with no mufflers and no crossover. I'm redoing everything mainly because I want to do away with all the flex pipe I used and go solid pipe. When I do this I am adding a crossover pipe and 2 tiny resonators.
My question is where do you think I'll get the best sound? Resonators before the crossover or after?

If it makes a difference I go 3" directly off the manifolds and then to 4" on the uprights.

Here is a picture of the actual parts I'm using. And I know that those resonators will not do much of anything but they will do something so I want to get it right the first shot because I am welding everything together before it goes under the truck. Also a couple pics to see how the stacks are ran.

That resonator/X-pipe doesn't seem like the best packaging for a stack on each side of the truck.

I'd look at running each separate, and a have a long crossover tube. Or run a Y-pipe and single stack.

JMHO.

I'm going with a crossover olny to even the sound out some. Right now when I am cruising down the road it sounds kinda like a Harley. Not that there is anything wrong with Harley I happen to like them. But I don't think I want my diesel truck sounding like one.
I think I pretty well have it figured to run the resonators after the x and also have it figured out on mounting it all up where really nothing but the uprights will be visible. I think it will mount up over the top of the tailshaft of the transmission with plenty of clearance and immediately cut outwards towards the stacks. I just need the rest of my pipe to get here to try it out.

I would put them after the x pipe, that's where they usually run.
