hey all,

been resurrecting a 1994 E-350 ambulance with the 7.3 IDI motor.. replaced the glow plugs, fuel return, filters etc and it finally runs.. however there is a fuel leak at what seems to be the input from the lifter pump maybe? its coming from the bottom of the connection to the pipe. (pic attached, circled area)

this connection seems to be soldered or fused in some way. my thought here is to cut the pipe off and put a new 90 degree with a barb and use hose + clamps.

is this connection high pressure? (I cant imagine it is)

I'm sure it's not coming from anywhere else, its def from under this connection..

thoughts? other ideas?

Chris, that is a flared connection with a seal inside the fitting called the “olive”.

@typ4 carries these seals, you should replace all of them to avoid future leaks.

A Ford or international dealer. I think fastenal and possibly some parts stores.
Barb and diesel rated line would be my choice. Lol

Look up vibra lok fittings and find a dealer near you, that’s the type of fitting it is. They should be able to help you out with the gasket that goes inside. That’s what people here call “olives”

If your signature is right and you’re in or close to Birmingham, AL then try these guys, they look like a shop that’s been around a while and will probably stock them.
