Truck ran great for 400+ miles yesterday and now won't start

She lives! New fuel filter did the trick. Had to put it in dry because I spilled all the diesel in the old one (oops). There was a bit of cranking to fill it back up but shes running great now. Thinking back on it I can tell you that last filter was AT LEAST 25,000 miles old. What's the...

Truck ran great for 400+ miles yesterday and now won't start

Honestly I have no idea how old the fuel filter is. I had my buddy turn it over while i was watching in the engine bay and the fuel filter/water separator is leaking on the passenger valve cover gasket so I'm definitly getting a new one of those. I'll drop that on and then try cracking the lines...

Truck ran great for 400+ miles yesterday and now won't start

1989 7.3 idi Turbo. As the title says, the truck ran great for 400+ miles yesterday empty and loaded hauling a car from TN to AL. Went out this morning and boom. Won't start. I can smell cold diesel after it cranks for a bit, Fuel Shut off Solenoid clicks when I unplug and plug it back in, truck...

    Door panel options?

After I graduated high school my grandfather gifted me his 89 F350 as a congratulations gift. It's my dream truck. As you can see in the picture, 4 door long bed, XLT Lariat, 7.3 Turbo Diesel. Whole nine yards. He passed away this summer and I'm wanting to fix the truck up and make it nice...

    Leveling Ideas/Options

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I'll definitly look into that. My truck just turned 200k so I'll probably get back close to that number out of new suspension components

    Leveling Ideas/Options

Alright gentlemen. Recently bought new tires for the truck. 255/85/r16 Toyo M/T. Super aggressive and exactly what I wanted. They dont necessarily warrant a lift but I am wanting to level it out a bit just for looks. Truck is a 1989 F350 2WD. I've looked all over the forums and websites and cant...

Truck being finicky about starting and running

Heres the update: A buddy and I went out to poke around on the truck together last night. It was doing the same thing with no WTS light and no start. I pulled the single wire at the top of the starter solenoid relay, plugged it back in and boom. Runs perfect. Glow plugs are back to operating...

Truck being finicky about starting and running

No worries man. Thank you for the ideas and diagrams. I'm about to get out of my last class for today so I'm going to go see what magic I can work here in just a few minutes. Will post updates as needed.

Truck being finicky about starting and running

Wiring schematics would be super straight. How long can I run with the fuel shut off jumped with a hot wire? This truck is for real my only mode of transportation. Also, any idea about the WTS light?

Truck being finicky about starting and running

Alright guys, here the deal. Truck has been running awesome lately. Just did the valve covers and oil cooler and everything went back together great. Came out this morning and the truck turned on like any other morning. Drove to school and was leaving after my second class, started up just...

    Air Conditioning Needs Fixed

@DrCharles... um yes, absolutely! Actually, I have no clue whats going on inside AC systems (obviously). I just know that they're a gift from God. So I had no clue I was suppose to do that. I'll pressurized the system and look for leaks with some soap. What am I looking for with the dryer? Like...

    Air Conditioning Needs Fixed

So it turns out that I had a bit of a dunce moment. I tried to jump the low pressure sensor with the system set to off. If I select AC and then jump the low pressure sensor the clutch engages. So now its time to move onto finding leaks and then charging the system, correct?
