Oreillys lists a clutch set that is for a OEM dual mass flywheel, but I believe Ill remove the old clutch first , then purchase the correct kit. So as soon as the Domestic Goddess cuts loose some coin of the Realm, ol' mexicanjoe is gonna twist wrenches one more time.
Ok guys, It appears my old '89 has a dual mass flywheel that needs changing. I can go to Autozone and purchase a kit. Do I need to change the flywheel to accommodate a single mass clutch replacement?
Ive never run across this issue before. Give me heads up on what to look for. This 63 year...
Your fan clutch could be frozen up and causing the engine to run cooler. The problem I have with my truck, however in the heat of the Texas heat it never gets above 10 degrees pulling a fully loaded 23' livestock trailer ( with the air conditioner on, i might add.)..... Makes a heck of a noise...
I had a VW Rabbit pickup with an 1.5 idi engine. 54 mpg and the most awesome a/c on the planet. My late friend Ron (RIP) was a wizard at a/c and worked his magic on the system. I witnessed 31 degree air from the vents, driving through Mertzon Texas on a 101 degree day! It was so nice to drive...
What are the recommended number of cup holders for a supercab pick up. Ive heard the numbers range from NONE to 12......... I await your answer with bated breath ( or bad breath, whichever ).
Ive got a feller going to give me an estimate on the cost of putting a clutch set in, for me. If all goes well it may be next month before we start hauling trailers again And I think Ill stop by Autozone and see if they have any cup holders on sale. Hard to drive a stick and hold a cup...
Ok, so it appears that LuLuBelle ( 1989 F- 250 ) needs a new clutch. From all the racket and what I can see, it appears she is carrying the original clutch. It being a dual mass clutch, which replacement clutch kit should I purchase at the local Oreilly store? Give me your honest opinions...
I keep the snorkle tube off LuLuBelle in the winter, or use the dryer vent hose and double it around to the exhaust manifold to warm things up quickly. In the summer though, I keep as much cold air in the air cleaner as I can. Living in the desert of West Texas, dust is an issue.
I can handle 80 to 100 temps all day. Cold weather shuts me down, arthritis and old injuries make this old man hurt. Cold weather is deer and casting season. I cast bullets for target practice, for myself and friends. Heat never bothered me even when I worked on cattle ranches in the...
When its cold and LuLuBelle starts up, she belches forth a cloud of blue/white smoke that will hide a 2016 Mazda CX-5. I know this because it happens frequently when Mrs. Joe parks too close to my price and joy.
Ill do it later this week, no time to mess with it right now. JF. I'm kinda short on places I can work on LuLuBelle. I've got the driveway but we use it to load my son in the wheelchair. Nothing like rolling around in the West Texas dust with a piece of cardboard as a mechanics creeper.
that noise just started last week, Due to a murder trial at work,Im gonna check the gearbox for issues by removing the sideplate later this week. Wish I could peek inside and see if the TOB is messing up and causing my problems. With my luck it would be both gearbox and clutch...........
stay...
We will find out next week! Due to my 3 jobs, I only have a few hours a week to dedicate to the exorcism of LuLuBelle. I found out Im the 3rd owner. and it what I figure is true, LuLuBelle still has the original clutch. So, I think that I will drain the fluid, check for parts and pieces of...
Boys and girls I said I would drive it like I stole it. Well, I took LuLuBelle out for a drive last night and she started making this God awful sound like there was gravel in the gear box. It happened mostly when I let off the accelerator. The sound disappeared when I coasted in neutral or...
