I'm sure that it is, the great state of UT uses the widely available salt and other chemicals on our roads here and that means it eats vehicles quickly. I'm thinking it's why the adjusters were hitting it hard due to them being in Kali. I had to remind them that this truck is from an area that...
I did, just waiting to hear from Towcat as to what all is busted and has to be replaced. Then it's the old song and dance of time, money and not having much of either.
I still am not sure exactly what happened to cause the wreck. I do recall that there was a big rig in front of us, drifting the corners and kicking up rocks. I backed way off from him and we went around another corner. that's when things get fuzzy. Two heavy bumps, the truck went out of control...
Well those rust spots on a truck from here in Utah are extremely minor, my wife's pathfinder has major rust cancer in the runners and the exhaust has been replaced already.:puke:
The plan was to get them buffed out and a new paint job but the accident set all that back.
Here's hoping the...
Thanks for the kind thoughts Dave.
My wife and I are glad we made it through it relatively unscathed. The outcome of the insurance company certainly could have been better but it's done now. I'll be taking my business else where for the new rig and dropping the coverage on the wife's SUV...
So I noticed there is some heavy soot coming from the tailpipe. After running it for a few it looks like there's black Styrofoam floating around on the ground.
Lots of black smoke when wide open throttle and I do have an oil leak. I have noticed there is some wet under the IP.
Yeah sorry for starting another oil thread but when I try to do a search on my phone for stuff it takes forever to find something.
I ended up doing the Shell Rotella but only because they had 4 gallons of it in stock.
I see my post didn't go through that I bought this big pig.
Off the tip of everyone's head, what size sockets or tools are required to drop the oil pan and reseal it. I don't have my hand tools on me so I'll need to access the ones from an autozone as it's the closest parts place to me.
Yes there is another IDI in the background, if you are interested in that one they are willing to sell it for $700 and it's located in CA. It is a used U-Haul 14' box truck, MAJOR oil leak and the C-6 trans is shot to hell.
Well my plans are to add living quarters to the box so it would qualify as a "RV" or car home. I will be registering it in either ?Nevada or South Dakota as both states have no income tax, or require going to a state office to renew the tags.
