Problem was the timer was not working properly, it was coming on and staying on untill it timed out at like 25 secs regardless of temperature. After replacing glow plugs, timer, and a custom made harness and also...

Who's running WMO and on what motor???

I have a book I read through some time ago. "Chilton's Diesel Guide by James Joseph" Copyright 1980. Not sure if you can find it online. The information is on page 91. There is a lot of outdated info in the book I noticed but it still has some good stuff in there. Here is a few sentences...

    Timing Meter

you'll need a timing light with an advance dial. I have a digital light and it reads the rpm along side the advance numbers. A digital light makes it very nice, if your budget allows pick one up, you won't regret it.

    Where did the fuel go?

I've seen the gas selector valves go out often, and do that same thing, sounds like your problem too.

Timing advance has amind of it's own.

The ford part # of the Cold Idle Temp Switch is: E8TZ-9E939-A I have seen them on ebay from time to time. Stealership charges 40+ bucks for one. Mine is out so I have mine unplugged. Unless it's really cold I don't see the need in it, looks to me that it will burn more fuel anyway.
