Dash brake light on all the time
Hi Guys...I haven't been on this forum for awhile. I'm having trouble with my dash brake warning light staying on most of the time. My very old recollection is that it has something to do with the brake proportioning valve. What should I do to fix this? Thanks!- Full Monte

How do I get my tailgate open?
I just got rid of a camper I've had on the truck for years. I put the tailgate back on the truck, and it's stuck in the closed position! ***? I put some Kroil on anything that looked like it was supposed to move, but couldn't see too well. Do you guys have any ideas how I might get this...- Full Monte

towing doubles in calif. ???
I think putting a bathroom scale under the wheel of a truck is a good way to ruin the scale. It would clearly be a weight outside the range of the scale's capacity.- Full Monte

I own a Jeep Liberty. They did make a Liberty with a diesel in it, though it's rare. I know nothing more than this, so you'd have to research what engine they used.- Full Monte

US Gear Dual Range / Doug Nash Info
I don't think it will shift if you aren't moving. Also, I've found that unloading the drive train (taking my foot off the pedal) facilitates the shift. I just hate the "clunk". My other truck has the Gear Vendors, which is automatic and shifts smooth. I like it better operationally, but the...- Full Monte

Coolant temps.
At the risk of repeating myself, you have to get ALL the air out of the coolant passages in the engine. I've been here and done that 15 years ago. One way is to make sure that the nose of the truck is pointed uphill when filling with coolant (per Towcat). Another is to remove the temp sensor...- Full Monte

Hello and adventures in cooling a 6.9
Remember...you have to burp a big air bubble out of the top of the head in order to get it to cool correctly. Towcat says you can fill the radiator with the nose up high, like on a hill.- Full Monte

US Gear Dual Range / Doug Nash Info
I put one of these on my '85 a number of years ago. It works well, but I've never quite become accustomed to the push-button shifting. Maybe I do it wrong. It makes a pretty big "clunk" when I shift it. If you have any tips on smoother shifting, I'd like to know. It is one HEAVY unit. Thanks.- Full Monte

How long can it sit for?
How about a couple years? The main thing you have to be careful of is the batteries going dead on you. I've had this happen more than once. Installing a battery on/off switch on + side of each battery would help. I just did that.- Full Monte
