7.3 IDI Smoking at Idle
Alright, I have a 1992 7.3 idi, it has a Banks sidewinder turbo on it. It will have blue'ish smoke at idle, but goes away once driving. For instance it will be smoking, and if you take off from a stop light the smoke will be gone about the time or right before you cross the intersection. Anyone...- FordTech92

If I was to get a newer Ford Diesel what is the year of choice?
Whats wrong with the 6.0 turbo or the fuel mileage? The 6.0 normally averages 16-17 in town and 19-21 on the highway. I always thought that was pretty good.- FordTech92

94 460 mpg
One of my first trucks was a 1995 F250, 460, ext cab, long bed, 2wd. it averaged about 8-9mpg. I think the best I ever averaged through a tank was 11-12. Good truck, but that fuel sure got expensive.- FordTech92

Contrary to what everyone is telling you. The 6.0 and 6.4 do have some common problems, but over all they are very reliable if maintained and if they have been taken care of. I work on these trucks everyday, majority of them being fleet trucks, that average 10K mile oil changes, most the time...- FordTech92
