Give me a damn Christmas starter recommendation.
I was looking for a real strong starter for my 7.3idi. The old 2.5kw starter had a hard time .... cold, hard totstart... hot, hard to start. I found out our starters use SAE1 bolt pattern, 10/12 pinion pitch and 46-47mm from flange to pinion end. Then there were more then "fits idi starters" to...- Bjober

Time for a clutch- need reccomendations
Do we see the same pictures? All pictures here shows 2 frictionplates forced apart by 2 thrust washers. The frictionmaterial transfers the torque to the 2nd flyweel , the clutchside. If you remove those 2 thrust washers there are nothing that stops the 2 flywheelmasses to rotate independently...- Bjober

Has anyone else noticed all the new members to the site?
I might be one of the new guy's youre talking about...? Have been here for nearly a year, but only 2 posts. Joined before I bought my idi. Great forum with all info I need. Maybe I can bring some new ideas to you from Sweden..... Hope I can give you a new DMF mod soon, but have not tested...- Bjober

at risk of sounding like a total goofball...
I do it. Won't hurt. It spares your clutch and makes it easy to move your trailer. I do it on flat ground.- Bjober

Brown Truck, Compression Test Results
Low compression causes noise. More fuel enters the combustionchamber before the combustion starts, just like a cold start with alot of noise.- Bjober
