    Another questionable purchase

You are absolutely correct - the INFERRED EBP flashes are much more reliant (sensitive) to accurate MAF sensor data.

    Another questionable purchase

Some flashes put the engine in "limp mode" with a plugged oil cooler. Also, it is important to know if you have the "Inferred EBP flash" or not. You can determine this by looking for the EBPINF PID" (or EBINF - can't recall which). Only the '03 engines (and early '04's had the '03 engine)...

    Vacuum Pump Pulley

The vacuum pumps on the 6.0L are electric. For the 6.0L, vacuum is for the climate control and 4WD hubs only. The brake assist for the 6.0L's are HYDROBOOST (power steering pump), not vacuum. Take the truck to a mechanic. https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-vacuum-pump-6c3z2a451a...

    First 6.0

LOL, never fails to hear from folks that never owned one ................................. heard it on Facebook, must be true. I've owned the 6.9 and 7.3 (still own this one) and the 6.0L has been the best one. They are finnicky and demand good maintenance and quality parts.

Do you know if the STC fitting has been upgraded? If you are going to do the air testing for leaks, get what you need to "command closed" the IPR valve, and/or the test fitting for putting air into the IPR valve port.

    hello

The best thing to do w/ a 6.0L is get a monitoring system, and when you do, immediately use it to assess the health of your oil cooler! Also, every 6.0L needs a fuel pressure monitor. Injectors need 45 psi supply pressure AT ALL TIMES, and they are expensive to replace.

    hello

2005's had a few differences from the '04's. Especially in the high pressure oil system. The one good thing on an '05 is the HPOP. In '05, the HPOP was upgraded. That said, the discharge fitting on those upgraded HPOP's was problematic. The wavy oil rail was introduced in late '04, so the...

I think the FICM is bad

I have no confidence in Harbor Freight scan tools (Zurich) for the 6.0L (not for code reading anyway). Only a few scan tools are truly thorough in retrieving all of them. Of those FORScan and Torque Pro are the ones that are very cost effective. When an engine stalls, there is almost always a...

I think the FICM is bad

If you end up convinced it is the FICM, have it rebuilt and upgraded at either FICMRepair.com or CircuitBoardMedics.com. It is cheaper and better than buying a new FICM. Sadly, sending in the FICM is the only way a logic board can be tested. The FICM can cause intermittent stalls, but so can...

    2004 F350 questions

If you are going to buy/drive a 6.0L, then you really need a good scan toll that can give you some engine vitals (PID information to watch periodically when driving). ScanGauge makes a couple of good ones, but they are not the best if you really want to dive into troubleshooting a 6.0L. For...

240k on truck - UOA at 5k OCI

Imagine that, 5000 miles on a 5W40 oil .... and the 12.1 viscosity is still higher (not by much, but it is) than Rotella 10W30 oil that starts at a 12.0! So much for the RAPID shearing internet posts!
