Hey Guys,

Can’t figure this one out. This is my first post so I apologize if it’s in the wrong spot.

My 86 6.9 will start up and die a few seconds or minutes later. Doesn’t run for any specific length of time. Fires right back up without glow plugs or cranking so I think this eliminates the traditional air in lines issue we all know and love. All wiring connections on top of the IP are tight and making contact- new IP 15k miles ago. Motor was swapped 2 years ago by a good shop and has 80k miles on it.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys

Well that’s the only wire you need to run the engine, so it would eliminate a wiring issue

Welcome to the forum. Can you tell us what the fuel level is in the tanks? If its near 1/4 tank you probably are running out of fuel. These tank suction heads break off and the last 1/4 tank of fuel can't be sucked out. cheapest easy fix is never allow level in tanks to get to 1/4 level.
