You'd think so, but it ain't quite how it works - the hub extenders are removable yes, but IIRC the part you're left with isn't a good match for a single wheel, the problem being the hub pilot diameter. You may be able to turn it down, not sure...

I wouldn't. This suspension is a factory 4-link setup, if you got the space I'd suggest using the factory Dodge axle mounts and running custom links to custom mounts on whatever frame it is that you're working with - not quite as simple as the leaves, but ride quality will be quite a bit nicer...

Oh, and that axle can be found under 2wd '94-'01 Ram 3500HD cab-chassis trucks. Maybe the newer ones also have it, not sure.

ride quality isnt my concern.
this is nothing more than a true hotrod.
what i should do is suicide the front end!
move the front axle forward of the front cross member, with a monoleaf. and radius rods.
but with a 7.3 going in it, i shouldnt.

right now it has a dual leaf front end.

ill have to see what i can do with the wheels, the donor truck is DRW, so i have the rims.

heres what im working with.

Like I said, there's a good chance you can swap the outers (anything from the spindle out) with some 8 lug 2wd parts.

im going to purchase an entire front axle, with steering and the box out of a truck when i find one.

since im using a DRW rearend, i should stick with the same, unless i find something super cheap.

I'm definitely seeing that front axle suicide mounted with some radius rods in the front. Not sure what to do with the front mount steering though....

flip it!
since i would be cutting everything off, simply flip it, to make it rear steer
and it also puts the steering on the drivers side for a sprint car style steering and drag link.
