Hi all. Its been so long since I removed the front drive shaft, that I dont remember which way it goes in. There is a rubber boot near one end, does that go toward front , or transfer case? All the rest of the parts from Hypermax and GV showed up this morning, so may have a running truck by nightfall. Maybe. LOL

if it has single joints at each end, it doesn't matter which way it goes. some guys run the slip joint at the tcase for better clearance on the crossmember.

I run all my slipjoints at the rear.they are solid metal, not toob! take abuse down there better.

If there is a double CV joint. . That end goes on the transfer case

It probably doesn't matter, but all the trucks I have ever worked on had the slip yoke at the transfer case end. Here's a diagram that might help boost that way of thinking, they call the plain joint end the "front" and the slip yoke the "rear".
