My time here is limited, as I'm sure it is for many of you. Consequently, the one thing that really peaves me, is when I get in here, and I have PM's complaining about the behavior of someone, and then I start reading posts and find them filled with trash and filth.

I WILL NOT, AND DO NOT TOLERATE THE USE OF THE F WORD HERE.

I run a family friendly forum. Use that word, or even quote someone else using it (if you must quote, you can edit it out yourself when you post it) and you get an automatic trip to the trash bin, no matter how usefull your post is. I'm not a school teacher editing little kids papers here. Put a lid on it, or don't post. It wastes my time to go around editing for content, and I'm not going to do it.

Pick your battles carefully. I'm really surprised by the way some of you fly off the handle for some trivial thing. Do like Jesus taught you and turn the other cheek if it's within reason. And if you don't follow him, then so be it, but the same rules apply.

mel-
just so that we're clear on this......
just because a Ford gets repowered by a Cummins motor, that doesn't make the truck the "F" word. :D

We all slip up and SAY the F word now and then. most of us are mechanics of some sort and next to sailors we have the worst mouths.

That being said it takes effort and thought to swear in a forum.

I agree with Mel, not needed here.

BTW, anyone complaining about me, just end the complaints my way.

Thanks for the cooporation and support. Yes, we all cuss. There are appropriate times and places (such as hitting your thumb with a hammer) when "gosh darn it" just doesn't yield the desired effect. I get that. However, I'd like to think that at least by policing ourselves a bit, we may be more presentable when we gather in person at IDI ralliies, which hopefully are family events like the IDI Weekend. This way, people with young children won't treat us like the plague and just hope and pray we go away. Sadly, many of us are stuck in work environments where the F word is a verb used to describe something in every sentance. When it's used that often, I just don't know how you feel better when the hammer meets your thumb. For those guys, it may take extra effort since we are often victims of our environment.

Thanks Mel, well said. I appreciate this forum and all the help here, and almost always a guy can even ask a dumb question and not get grilled.

For the love of god people, this isn't a truck stop!! LOL!

I have never used the F word here unsensored, but I have been a little loose at the gums a couple times. Mainly after drinking a few too many, then coming on here.

I gotta stop my drunk-typing.

No, but seriously...I can understand the message Mel is trying to put across.

Mel, isnt there a way to sensor those words automatically? Several forums I frequent have filters that prevent certain words from posting.
