WARNING>>>>>> NO PHOTOS YET!

Well, I finally got the crew cab project finished. As a recap, I pulled the engine to replace the headgaskets, add a Banks Turbo, head studs, rebuild of the oil cooler, swap the C6 for a "typ4" modified 460 ZF5, banks exhaust (with muffler delete), added an e-pump, 7.3 filter head, new polyurethane body mounts, rewired most of the accessories, gauges, push button glowplugs, and a Isspro Turbo Temp Monitor......blah, blah, blah.:D

Anyway, I got it finished and put it on the road Saturday for some pre-rally road trip shakedown! I put roughly 200 miles on it so far. I love the ZF5. The 1st is seriously low, and reverse is better than my T-19, but I'd like the reverse ratio better with the underdrive unit engauged. There is ZERO gear rollover with the ZF5 using 2 gallons of Royal Purple synthetic ATF. Overdrive is nice. I can cruize at 70 at roughly 1800 RPM.

With the turbo plumbing wrapped with heat insulation, the turbo makes boost at really low RPM. And, boost builds quickly with throttle. There is a vibration in the engine between 2000-2500 that is annoying. Not sure if it is a couple of injectors or if the flywheel (SMF) isn't perfectly balanced or what. The water temp sets right at 190 -200, but never gets any hotter. But, that is running empty. We'll see if I need a Rodney Red Radiator when pulling a camper.

The are a few bugs that I need to work out. I forgot to wire the reverse lights (simple and won't take long). The glowplugs are on a toggle (like my F250), one setting for push button, one for automatic control. But, the automatic controller isn't working. The horn and cruize control buttons on the steering wheel aren't working. I must have missed a plug somewhere. I need to charge the A/C with R134A. There are a few wires I want to put into a lume. I will reinstall/wire the trailer brake controller when the time comes to buy/hual a camper. But, she's pretty much done!!!!:D

How do you like the muffler delete on the Banks exhaust?

In the cab, I can't tell the difference. When I went to Dad's shop yesterday, he said it was louder than my F250 with the Banks muffler. He heard me coming from a ways down the street. I need to have him drive it while I have a listen. If it is annoying, I'll just put the muffler on.

The vibrating noise you report can be the DP hitting the firewall, mine did the same thing.

It's not nosie, it is vibration. The DP is not touching the firewall. It seems like a bad injector the more I drive the truck. It is also getting less noticable. Again, it is only between 2000-2500 RPM.

Thanks again Gary, and ........ well Gary.:D

Still no photos. I'll try to get them up later.
