Why someone would bother painting it without first fixing the body is beyond me. Probably didn't do much for prep, and rust will be peeking through in a few months. He's got a few grand in the truck and thinks its now worth that much extra. I think I might email him and offer him 12k for whatever he's smoking... it must be good.

hey im in concord ca the price are going up because there still smog extemp unlike newer 97+diesel and i have those same tire there about 400 a pop but i bought them one the truck

I never beat someone up on their asking price. People have a right to their own opinion on what somethings worth, especially if that something belongs to them.
Is the truck worth 12k? Hell no. But to him its worth that. When he doesn't recieve a single call on it maybe he will get the hint and get back into this atmosphere on the price, but until then I would just watch for the price drop and move in for the kill if it ever got into my price range.
I thought for sure my old truck even with a blown engine would be worth at least $1200-1500, tried to sell it here, on c-list, e-bay, etc and never sold it. I ended up letting it go for next to nothing because thats all it was worth. To me it was worth 3x my asking price because i had so much $$$ in it, but in the end it was only worth what someone would pay for it. RULES OF LIFE.............

Wow. I realize cali is a pretty much rust free state but 12Gs? I would say closer to 6,000

And why would you paint a truck and yet have a rough body? What else is half assed on the truck

Matt, I don't think it was next to nothing on your old truck. I'm still finding things to buy parts for to fix. If the guy gets a third of his asking price, good luck. He has got to start somewhere.

Oh I totally agree Rick, just pointing out that a sellers asking price is most likely directly related to how much they have in the vehicle, not what its ACTUALLY worth. A hard realization for most folks, including myself..........
