just bought new truck 01 sd 6spd 7.3 it seems to have a cat converter is this what i am seeing or something else i am wanting to run staight exhaust will this hurt anything if i take the muf and converter off.

yeah, the bolt actions had cats, the auto's did not. Don't ask me why.. just the way the Fed's wanted it, I guess..

removing it, although illegal, is a popular mod.

Personally, I'm gonna put a Walker DynoMax system on mine.. that way, if I bend up a pipe or crush a muffler hauling the manure spreader out in the woods, all I do is call NAPA and order another one.

thank you for the info i have found a exhaust shop that will put a pipe in place of the muf and cat for $90.00 i just wonder what the cat is worth.

just don't breath the stuff inside of it, it is very toxic in a powder form!!

Iknow they start at 97,but not sure from there.when I scrapped mine it paid $200. Scrap is down now so you might not get as much. Free money never hurt anybody
