Dang! I hope they include a picture of the motor before they tore it down, so one could figure out where all that stuff goes. LOL If they sold diesel on the lakes I frequent, I'd have been all over that when my 302 blew a freeze plug last winter.

Adrian,

Most marine engines turn the "normal" direction. Its just when you have twin engines that they have one turn "backward". That cancels the torque reaction from the propellers.

True, Some twin boat motors turn reverse rotation to each other. Now they just run a reverse rotation trans. Its really expensive to make a motor run backwards.

The most common wya I have heard of the counter rotating motor being used is in twin engine outboard applications. In that case you can get the left hand motor cheap if the twins are ever separated for some reason. back on topic...why not just take some diesel to the lake with you? Can't use that much fuel inland...offshore or commercial fishing...they use LOTS of diesel over a 3 day grouper trip.

:rotflmao :rotflmao Havn't seen that in years, can happen when they kick back when trying to start them too... pretty neat when smoke comes out the intake and everybody soils themselves trying to shut it down:eek:

Wonder if they do those conversions often or if this is a relisting. I saw that listed a couple of months ago.

That would be reason enough to build a cool old inboard. Now if we just had some water in New Mexico...

i have a 26ft shrimp boat that the 351 gasser gave up and i thought very serious about pulling the 6.9 out of my truck and putting it in my boat. it would push the hell out of it, because i have a 32ft boat with a 150hp isuzu diesekl in it and it will get on top and roll.
