I assume you jumped the starter relay/solenoid on the fender? Did you jump the two large terminals or one of the large ones to the small terminal on the solenoid?

1. If you jumped the large terminals, try jumping from the + battery terminal to the small terminal on the solenoid. If it cranks, then you know the solenoid is good.

2. If it passes the above test, you know you are not getting 12v to the small terminal on the solenoid. This comes from the neutral safety switch if you have a automatic or the clutch switch if you have a manual. From there it comes from the ignition switch on top of the column, under the dash.

If you feel like you are over your head and just want to get it running, you could just add a pushbutton starter switch that will jump the battery + to the solenoid small terminal. If you do this, just make sure you buy a inline fuse and put it very near the battery + connection on your new wiring. Run a wire into the cab to the pushbutton, and then from the pushbutton run back out to the small terminal on the starter relay/solenoid.

Does sound like it but check one more thing. The solenoid needs a good ground where it's bolted to the inner fender. I think Ford may have put a small ground wire there. But as a test, if you have another jumper, try to clip it to the metal mounting of the solenoid, and then clip the other end to the battery negative.

Then do your battery + to small solenoid terminal again and see what happens. If it works now, you have a bad ground to the solenoid. If it still doesn't work, ,bad solenoid.

So I am semi retarded. I was touching the little terminal with nothing on it , checked the other terminal & it worked fine. For the hell of it i tried starting it in Nuetral & it fired right up. But won't in Park ??? Thanks for all ur help

Maybe your shifter needs to be adjusted a little bit. Normally I wouldn't be thinking along this line, but it started out as a problem with the key switch, and had stayed in areas related to it. It's possible that for some reason, the shifter isn't quite pulling the linkage on the transmission far enough to the park position. If the key switch is now working correctly, you may be able to adjust the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission. I think that there's a little adjustment anyway.
Warning: I like to swing for the fence sometimes. Babe Ruth also led the league in strike outs, but most people don't remember that.

^^^^^yes. Spring the key over to start with it in park and hold it. Then wiggle the transmission lever around while it's in park and see if tries to start. It may just be a tiny bit out of adjustment like IDIBRONCO said.
