Fuel tank decision.

I replaced the FSV it had a lifetime warranty and it was stuck on front tank. I removed the front tank and bypassed the lines. Hope to get a larger capacity rear tank soon. And since we're on the subject does a larger bronco tank require modification? Which tanks work?

Oh i missed the stuck part... BUT I'm pretty darn sure the valve itself doesn't have to physically move for the electrics to read off the rear tank. It's instant when you hit the switch, doesn't matter what the valve is doing. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that is how it works.

That's not how it works. The sending unit wires go the valve because that is where they are switched. There are only two wires going to the valve to control it, they are the valve motor wires. It's wired just like a electric window motor. The polarity is reversed on these two wires by the dash switch, and that moves the motor back and forth to move the valve guts.

But there is also a rotary switch with contacts inside the valve. As the motor moves the valve spool, it also turns this rotary switch, and this switch switches the sending unit wires. It works much like the electric transfer case motors, which move the transfer case shifter and also have a rotary electric switch inside which tells the shift computer what position the motor is in.

Ah I gotcha, thanks for the clarification. I didn't pay enough attention when I had mine apart some years ago.

Lifetime warranty is good...best to cap off those lines then since you have a new unit now.

As for the big tank yes the 38 gallon tank is a bronco tank, for new you're looking for the:
