Have a 94 with 3.55 sterling 10.25 rear end, looking at a lsd out of a 2003 f250. Seller confirmed its a 35 spline. All my research says it should fit as Ford used the 10.25 and 10.50 from the 80s all the way up till now. Since mines a 94 it has the larger yoke and pinion and longer spline length. Am I correct in assuming this lsd should fit in my 94? It's a factory unit. I've read all the stories about factory units but I'm not hardcore wheeling with this rig, just want better traction on ice, snow and occasional offroad and would love to have to not get out and put her in 4x4 every time I turn around somewhere with a slight ditch.

Based on my "rabbit hole spelunking" this is what I'm considering:

Yeah me too, but there's a couple on ebay that are stupid cheap. Everything I've read makes me believe it will work. I might just try it

I have a truetrac in my 83 f350 and have no complaints. If I pull one tire off in the grass and the other on dry pavement, quickly release the clutch with a little throttle, the tire on pavement chirps. Normal daily driving and towing, it’s completely unnoticed.

Lockright or Detroit locker. Have run both in 10.25. The limited-grip never did the job properly in a loaded truck.

Slight hijack: I've got ARB lockers front and rear in the Jeep, with OBA, it's a good system. Not thinking of OBA or any hard core off roading with Raylan, but I still would like more traction in case I ran into the need for it. Any thoughts or reviews on the Eton E-lockers?

Cost and complexity (failure point) take selectable out of the picture for me.

I like being able to feather the action of the locker with the throttle (manual trans). You adjust your driving a little, and then you don't even think about it anymore.

In my 93 dually it has factory limited slip which has worked out really well over the years. Didn't have to chainup to often.

The Ford factory limited slip really leaves something to be desired. My dad has one in his excursion and ever since new, it seemed like an open diff.

I have ridden in a truck with a true Trac, and my Kia Stinger has a Torsen diff. Great units up to around a 35" tire. Very secure feeling because they react so quickly.

My centurion has ARB's f/r, I went with those because of snow traction. Open diff for the roads and when you have that "oops" moment, flip a switch and cruise on back to a safe area!

Detroit lockers are weird. Very sloppy auto lockers that will do weird things when you're at pucker factor 5. Anything other than dirt you need to learn how it drives.

There are carbon fiber clutch plates available along with some tricks like building them with extra frictions to tighten them up, but they give up the ghost a little earlier than expected
