Hm, so the 6.9 (except 87 6.9 with the 7.3 style setup) need positive for the push button, unlike 87 6.9/all 7.3s that need ground? Good to know. I might get around to that mod myself.

Cool. I did it on my 6.9 F250's 7.3 system but that was much easier, no wire cutting required.

True, but on the 6.9 system, after the push button install, the problematic controller (solenoid) isn't required. I didn't even bother to install it in the head when I swapped from a 6.9 to a 7.3. No controller means no more bad controller sticking on to burn out all of your glow plugs. It also means that as long as your engine's warm, you don't need glow plugs to start.

Yep, on the truck I only had to run the plugs once if I was driving a lot any given day.
