One of my injectors is shooting a geyser of fuel

Replaced my injectors. One of them is shooting a geyser of fuel out of where the injector line connects to the injector, primarily above the screw cap. I tried pulling the line back off. It appears to be on straight, not cross threaded or anything, and the cap is good and tight.

Any thoughts? Im going to go pull it off again just to make sure its on there straight... but i'm pretty sure it is.

The return cups are new and they click down good into the seat with the o-rings, so I don't think that is the problem.

Can you post a picture of the top of the injector? Sometimes I’ll get injector cores in that have a crushed top piece and they won’t seal well on the tester and I have to use a different body.

There is a very fine groove running around the injector line flare probably from overtightening it. Think I should try and dress it with some very fine emery cloth?

I get what you are saying. The cap is seated, its just the diesel fuel making it look like that. I cleaned it up and checked.

I cleaned the flare with some fine 320grit emery cloth. I bent the line a little just to make sure it was going in extra straight. Got the cap good and tight... and... still leaks. It is definitely the pressure side leaking.

I suppose I should throw one of my old injectors back in there and see what happens. If that fails guess I need to find a new line.

Well Wes was on the money as usual. Turns out I had slightly buggered the threads on the new injector. This was only obvious after I pulled it out. Running fine with the old injector.

I can clearly see the cross threading in the first pic. A knife edge file can easiely fix this but you must really work hard to keep the file bits from entering the injector top. ANY trash entering the top of the injector ruins it but good. The pin to nozzle clearance is way less that a thousands inch. But glad you found the issue. Its really easy to cross thread the injector to line nut. BTW the nut is much harder material than the injector body threads.
