Watch eBay and you’ll find some leftover Ford replacement ones, there’s aftermarket but they are much thinner plastic and don’t fit as well.

Salvage yards specializing in selling used auto parts will want the moon! Go to a salvage yard that mostly handles scrap metal but also buys scrap cars & trucks. Selling used auto parts is a secondary thing and plastic parts are usually very cheap because they're virtually worthless as scrap.......

Most do, even the u pull places. I've used car-part.com a couple of times, got a $600 window for my wife's old freestar van for $60 shipped. You just have to search through the usually hundreds of listings.

Where I'm at the scrap yards usually shred or send the cars down the road before anyone can pull parts off them.

I've used Car-part.com too. It's nice and simple. I got my Gearvendor OD with the tailshaft housing and electronics with shipping for $250. You just have to be a bit computer savvy on that website to navigate the hordes of results.

Do tell! Any tips you could give us computer dinosaurs on how to negotiate the site?

That's amazing, I could have GVOD at that price!

I wrote a script (a program that I made) that uses web browser API's to check CL or car-parts to search things I want every day at a certain time. I gotta run (coaching my kids soccer game in a bit), but I can explain more.

So to better explain what I did... I wrote this program that searches multiple craigslists and car-part.com to make a list of a certain search term. It puts it all in a results in an easy to read spreadsheet. I put it on a Windows Schedule so that it checks the websites every day in the morning, so when something comes up, I know it is newly available. I haven't used it recently cuz I'm not in the market for anything at the moment. Also, from what I read, automating access to CL is supposedly against the TOC, so I don't distribute the code. This code is basically how I found my 98 Jetta, my '88 IDI van, that GVOD, and various other unique parts for a reduced price.
