The axle code on the door jamb will tell what axle the truck came with, though it doesn't help if the axle has been swapped.

Do tell, what 'code' signifies what axle?

Well, I can't remember off hand. The higher the number the higher the ratio. I think I have (letter)14 or something like that which indicates limited slip with 4.10's. The letter indicates LS. It is possible it changes year to year.
