i'm sure this has been covered before but i suck at the search function.
is the 6.2 the same size as any other small block chevy?
i have a 91 camaro that i am interested in doing a diesel swap in.

im not planning on keeping the motor in there very long so i am looking for the easiest and cheapest swap.

I kicked around dropping a 350 Olds diesel in my 86 Camaro, when the 2.8 grenaded. Between the tranny, electronics, & such, I just dropped a crate 2.8 back in. I'm sure a V-8 would have been more fun, but it was my daily driver at the time.

i only want it in long enough to register it as a diesel, and remove the smog requirments. then i can put the stroker gas motor in and not have to worry about it

good luck with the plan. last I checked, kali isn't allowing diesel into gasser swaps anymore ever since diesels have gotten the "scarlet letter" from CARB. Also, '98 and newer diesels are getting smogged starting in Jan with plans for the older stuff around the corner. Bottom line, any gains from getting away with becoming a "diesel" is going to be nullified soon.
but to answer your original question.....yes a 6.2 will fit in where a SBC used to be.
