Again, nope. Lol

Well the junk yard punched a hole in the diff cover so I wanted a nice aftermarket. Consider one with cooling fins but they're way too expensive. Found one made of 1/4"for 130$ and I'm ok with that price for what it is, but..... For like 70$ more I can get a small truss that incorporates the diff cover :). Still less than an AFE. Figured it's not needed, but what could it hurt, you know? Lol

You can get that ford finned cover from ford for 50 bucks online. There is a groove in the sealing flange for rtv.

I'm actually still leaning towards the 1/4" cover with or with out the truss. Kinda like bomb proofing my truck lol

RTV works great if you let it setup for an hour or so, and ive never had any problems with just the paper felpro gaskets. cleaning, and dremeling are the key. You gotta take a razor blade and feel for any knicks anywhre and dremel them down if its the first gear oil change on your truck. I've found knicks on the bottom that keep the cover from sitting flush that wouldnt seal right if not ground away.

Well those are interesting. No price though.
I've always used rtv. I would like to try something dare I say reusable. It's just a mess to clean up rtv. Lol
But if I swapped in one of those fancy finned aluminum ones with a drain plug.....

I wouldn't waste a dime on lube locker gaskers. I had one come with the 3/8 thick steel diff cover on the wheeler. After 6 months, all bolts are still tight but if it sits I get a puddle from the diff. Never had a leak with rtv.

That's the first negative thing I've heard about them. I have a Dana 30 and 35 lube locker on my 97 wrangler and they've never leaked

Sounds like freakin snake oil...

Barnum said it best....

If you are planning a build....a comprehensive cleaning a d ensuring it is surgically clean...a stock gasket and some elephant snot....assemble and let set...ad fluid..yer golden...ner'r a leak in oh I dunno ..30 years....long before lube lockers...almost sounds pornographic
