WTS light

My WTS light does not work. I have power,just no light. Last time i had the dsh out it lookes as thtought that WTS, WIF and? was a sealed unit. IS it servicable or do i need a whole new piece. And if servicable what bulb goes in

Ask Stosh over on FTE, he just pulled that diesel dash bezel from the yard, he should be able to tell you.

The one in the 86 is non-serviceable, must be replaced as a unit. I found a spare in the wrecking yard.

Interesting. I've never needed to touch mine in 26 years. It had not occured to me that the unit is sealed.

Well it is a sealed unit. Just picked up a used one. But that is not my problem. I must not have power from my control unit. Gonna be a lil difficult to trace, i have the upgraded 88 glowplug harness

Do the other lights work? Test the lights independent of the truck. If they work, don't overlook the ground side on the truck harness. I've found just as many ground problems as power side problems over the years.

No. none of the lights light up at startup.

Since none of them light, I bet it's a ground problem. Check a schematic, but I bet they share a common ground. Figure out which is the ground wire and test to see if it has continuity to ground. You should be able to remove the light set and test them on the bench. That's where I'd start anyway.
