Truck fired right up this morning, drove ok on the way to work. With the exception of it stalling after getting off the interstate, and firing right back up. Changed the fuel filter before the electric lift pump and a new air filter. It took a bit to get it to fire up. Not sure if it was due to replacing the fuel filter or if it was due to what ever is going on. Ill know when i go to leave work today. Once it fired up the idle was low. I believe it has been low for a while. Tach isn't reading accurately, believe I need a new sender. I adjusted the idle for now.
I installed the current IP about 40k miles ago. When I installed it I also installed the electric lift pump and prefilter. I set the timing with the tool I rented from where I purchased the IP.
So, my question is this,,,
Is there a reason for me to have to adjust my timing (things like lift pump not suppling the original psi therefor retarding the timing, IP wearing in? Or is it normal to have to simply adjust the idle ?
