Someone pm'ed me about this so i will tell you guys what i told him. I use string wound filters to clean my WVO and WMO from
www.micronfiltercatridges.com. They are cost effective and do a good job of cleaning the oil. With WVO i filter doen to 5 micron, but with WMO i would filter down to 1 micron. The difference being what the particulate matter in the oil is. . .french fries vs metal shavings. since the oil is filtered down to ~20 microns by the trucks filter (i makes sure not to dump the filters contents into oil) two filters say a 10 and a 1 would work easily. especially if you are just runnin a few gallons at a time. I think filtering down to that level will greatly decelerate the demise of your IP.

I've always run diesel in my truck, but I've done a number of cars on veg, and I've always settled it for at least a week before filtering and then cold gravity filtered ( cold for the veg to catch the fats at that stage of filtration instead of them ending up in the tank, not a problem with WMO ) it down to 2 microns First through a goldenrod 15 micron waterbloc , then through a 2 micron. What comes out is cleaner than pump fuel and my filters on the cars last darn near forever. I had a car and some of my filtered veg on display at an alternative energy show one time and that stuff is so clean that I had numerous people who weren't paying too much attention, trying to buy jars of my "honey"

when I pointed at the jars filled with the unfiltered gunk that went into those jars, the stuff didn't look quite so appitizing

If you take the time to clean things up front, it will save you a lot of headaches . That said, if you play, you pay, there's no free lunch. but like Mel said, if you're putting aside $2.60-$3.50 or more a gal that you're not having to pay for , it would only take you about 233 gallons of WMO to save up for a new moosepump
If someone is going to be running a whole lot of WMO without heating it first before trying to pump it( that means heating the tank it's in hot enough to thin it where the lift pump can handle it easily ), they don't need to running any kind of vehicle lift pumps, they need to be shopping at the industrial tug boat and ship engine supply houses and get an electric lift pump rated for bunker C . They make these big churning behemoths specifically for moving thick oil fuels that have to be heated before they can be burned. If you get one of those, you'll never need another lift pump.
