When is it time to retire an engine?

Some have added a turbo to an earlier engine. Some have discouraged that. I did it. With a 3.5 rear, a hard pull in third (direct) at about 65 MPH will produce a max of ten pounds. That was enough to seriously increase performance and reduce soot.

Am I abusing the engine? Should I try to find a turbo core or just rebuild this one?

Any upgrades available? I am not going to band aid it. It is my daily driver.
