yep. the MLPS(manual lever position sensor/switch) from the auto. it tells the trans what gear you want. no need for it with the manual now.

Probably the nsawers above are correct but.. I see now reason to keep the trans switch connected electrically. Try removing the taped up switch. The worst thing that can happen is the truck wont start becauseit not seeing that the trucks in neutral or park. I really don't think thats going to happen but its a wag at this side of the screen.

Mine is still connected on my truck as well...but it also still lives underneath the truck zip tied to the frame rail, close to where it originally lived. Is yours up in the engine bay by the batteries?


I think I will go unhook it soon to see if it will affect anything.

Unhooking it will cause truck to not start unless the Nss wires are tied together.
