Valve cover washers

Does anyone know where I can find the triangular shaped valve cover washers? I lost one of them, so now I need to find a replacement.

Should be able to just go to a parts store and get a a set of valve cover spreaders, they come in 2 sizes small and big. The small ones should work fine

Just about any vehicle, gas or diesel that has valve covers has them. You best bet is a junk yard.

take another off, make a new one from some scrap

All the above postings are a way to solve this issue easily. It just depends on how you choose to fix this. buy. Steal or make one. They really are easy to make or find in stores or wrecking yards. Find a truck wrecking yard and maybe you can find any international engine.

Chevrolet used the same basic thing for 40something years on the small blocks. I bet you can find one of those in the junkyard

Sure, if you can find any that would be great, if not, I think I will manage to come up with something. It sounds like as long as it's similar it should do the job, and that's the main thing I was worried about.

Got you some. I'll take photos later. They are off a 1987 6.9 (facing forward) right side valve cover. What i could reach i took since the truck didn't have hood brackets to keep it up

Here you go. This came off a 1987 6.9 as stated. It was also painted yellow/red, had a ton of expensive aftermarket stuff (no turbo, just a O/D unit, never heard of it before) and so forth. Mostly picked over. Oddly? (Haven't taken mine off) some/most had been double stacked. Can't say why. See photo (Not cleaned yet, just thought i'd show a quick one)

I did get a bubble mailer (so it isn't ripping in a regular envelope as it goes through a sort machine) so it will be kinda overkill for it, but fine. Name how many you need and I'll figure shipping out. "Donations" accepted beyond shipping if you desire, not mandatory. Should be under $2 for just 1st class mail, but i'll need more info to calculate it

You don't remember the name of the O/D unit? Might be valuable
