I bought motorcraft positive and negative cables for a 93 ford truck from Rockauto. The positive is right now at $116.00. The negative is $35 ea. The don't have both negative cables anymore. So I bought two of the same. I figured by the time I made my own I'd of had very similar money in everything not to mention time. I think another good place is custombatterycables.com

Another note about the negative cables on this or any engine... Never connect them to an exhaust manifold bolt. Even though it might be a closer run and a cheaper cable it wont work. Heres why.. The copper cable will suck the heat out of the manifold. Remember the heat is unlimited during run time. So that heat will boil the battery and ruin it... Saw this happen on a dodge once.. The guy kept ruining his batteires over and over. Looked at where he was grounding too and figured it out.. He needed a ground cable and bught a too short one. Found it would reach the exhaust manifold so figured it was ok... Well can we say it will get you home but not much farhter.... Sure can...:sly

What are our stock ones grounded to? Just engine block?

So will the only thing I need will be 1 order of positive, and 2 orders of the negative?

Does that cover the postive all the way back to the starter and that too?

Yeah that positive cable goes from the starter to both batteries and has the starter to fender solenoid wire and battery to fender solenoid wire also. For the money it seemed like the best deal. So yeah order two negative cables and one positive cable. Now the negative cables were originally different so you'll need to add one jumper in. The passenger side cable had a jumper from the block to the frame also that the only cable available doesn't have. Drivers side cable should be fine.
