Yes. But only to thin WVO mix. OR for winter time use.

I'd say yes. We used to use only put about a gallon of gas in a 100 - 150 gallon fuel tank on a big truck for winter anti gel.

I stopped doing it back in the late 80's and our company ordered drivers to quit the practice and use power service after a buddy of mine got burned in his face removing the fuel cap one day. Think he had a bit too much in it and static electricity ignited the fumes in a flash fire when he removed the cap. I was standing there talking to him when it happened.

My buddies mother put gas in a diesel rental car in Italy and she told me her father said he never heard anything mechanical die such a miserable death.

As I said, I use it to cut WVO for winter mainly, I would not use it with straight diesel on a regular basis. Guess I should have cleared that up a bit.

What gets me is Mercedes recommending up to a 30% RUG (regular unleaded gas) for winter use. I guess if you're stuck in a tiny remote hamlet up on the Alps in February during an arctic freeze and all that was available was a couple of liters of petro and if not blended in your mid 80's Mercedes's tank it would gel solid...and you had some euros in your pocket you'd do it.

Are you using fresh gas or old gas old gas works better as some of the aromatics are lost reducing octane you might try adding 1 ounce of pure gum turpintine to the mix for every 10 gallons to help raise the centane. Some times less is better you might try 3 gal RUG. The use of gas is not to increase performance but to help thin the mix for better viscosity and anti gelling in winter. hope this helps.

This is in my front tank I do not start on this I switch after the truck is warmed up

My rear tank is 10% WMO and 90%#2 and 2 ounces turp.

Trying to reduce smoke from 50% wmo 50% diesel mix. Unleaded in the mix
is the only thing that reduces smoke. Think I will try acetone on next
mix. Say 2 oz per 10 gal of total volume of mix. It does smoke very little
on rainy or misty days on same tank . The next day it will go back
to smoking. Thinking of injecting water to reduce smoke ?

I've used acetone in the past it's suposed to help keep the blends together 1 ounce per 10 gallon cant prove ether way it is a octane though. Sound like you need more Centane have you tryed the turpintine or a good centane booster Amsoil is the best I've found Diesel clean is a close second. Keep us posted.
