Two issues with Big Red after engine rebuild

Well I got Big Red running again after the engine rebuild I made a mistake and forgot to send the radiator to the shop to get cleaned out and now I need ideas on what to use to get the oil out of the radiator
Also I noticed the oil pressure on the factory guage is below the L on the guage when the engine is at operating temp.
I did however fix my tranny problem which was I had to warm up to operating temp for the tranny to shift into 1st, well I serviced the tranny and now it works great.

Unless you have a garden hose with HOT water, there is not much you are gonna do. I say sent it to get flushed.


Ground the wire on the sending unit and see if the gauge gets pegged hot. If not you have a wiring or gauge problem. If it does get pegged, either your sending unit is bad or you have a serious problem

Use Cascade dishwashing liquid (low Suds Formula) add about a half of a cup with ur water bring to operating temp, may take a couple of times, but will do the trick. Before adding your coolant and DCA's flush (motor and rad) good with water.

Cascade or Dawn dish soap works fine.. Or do nothing because it will all get pushed over into the overflow tank. Then you just dump that and its all good. Only use the soaps on a water only cooling fill. Don't waste the antifreeze if you have refilled the system with it...

I have always just pulled the tstat and flushed with cold water, why would that be a prob if the engine was not hot when the cold water hit?

Cold water doesnt cut the oil is the problem.

ok sorry stupid question everytime I have flushed was to get trash out not oil

When we had a turbo go where i worked at we would always wash them out with cascade or spray nine. didnt matter about cold or hot water but spray nine worked best also forgot to add we were washing out the charge air cooler,

How much money did you spend on rebuilding this engine? And you are relying on the piece of junk factory gauge that has "normal" across the gauge with no real numbers?

Ok I used Dawn dishwasing soap and so far it has worked but how many times do I need to drain and fill and run the engine to get the soap out of the engine? I think I have done it 3 times now.
Or should I jut drain it and add some Nalcool and coolant?
And just wait for it to work its way out to the overflow tank?
