Um, why do you want to throw smoke?
I would expect that flooring the engine at 1000 RPM will already make it smoke a lot. Not sure that turning up the fuel will help much.
Not hauling weight doesn't mean that you can't hurt the truck or the engine.
I guess for what you want to do, you can turn it all the way up (1/4 turn back from bottoming out), but just to be clear, you are completely at fault if the engine blows a gasket or something else. Don't blame this forum or anyone on it if something goes wrong, so consider this your official warning.
I think 3 flats is too much but thats my opinion. What I would ask is that you go one flat at a time and retry it.
