Truck randomly died today. NEED HELP

No. He's talking about the ignition switch. It mounts under the dash on the top side of the steering column.

There is a flat bar that attaches to the part in that picture and works the switch back and forth when you turn the key.

Ya seeing as yer having electrical izsues...discconect grounds on batteries till resolved...no need for thermonuclear meltdown of yer truck....

Got the ignition switch replaced and it did solve the problem of no power with the key on. Thanks for the help everyone. Now I need to order the FSS and replace it without blowing my truck up:D

Good to see you are making progress fixing this. The sad part is Ford engineers made electrical parts so weak they sometimes casue fires and we loose the truck. A few years ago a member drove home from a long day at work and parked in the driveway. Finally resting inside when pounding on door people screaming your truck is on fire.. He lost that rig in about 5 minutes. The 2 worst places for electrical load is the main head light switch and the ignition switch.
