You need to check down at the starter for the voltage. If you are getting it there and have a good ground, the starter is bad.

both solenoids are working fine. i obviously got power going to the solenoid on the starter itself if that one is clicking...and not the fast clicking of a dead battery...

just not sure if the power is getting out of the solenoid on the starter and into the starter motor. the starter is only 2 yrs old from carquest...and has only been on the truck for a year (took that long for the first one to die)

you wont be disappointed!;Sweet

i would recommend this one of the two they offer. much easier to install because it give you lots of room and its much easier to get to the terminals.

Clean connections are only clean if they are shiney!.....I can't stress that enough....Do a voltage drop across all the connections between the batteries and the starter to make sure every is good....Check your grounds too....Tap the starter with a hammer while cranking to see if it engages.

well...finally had time to install today....

initial reports are correct as it is a bit more noisy then the original....however the engine spins over uber quick and fires right off....

the solenoid may in fact has been the culprit. when i went to remove the wires from the starter the end cap of the starter solenoid rotated within the housing a bit...

dunno....doesnt matter....my truck is running again and i can give my sister back her roach mobile of an exploder...
