Truck just stalls.........PSD

I am going to go look at a truck that is a 2000 CC 4x4 with 170k mi xlt PSD, the guy said he had it warming up one day this past week and went inside. When he came back out the truck was not running. He went to start it up and did but then just plain stalled. I might have the option of buying it like this. He said he was going to take it to the shop and find out what it was. OK my question is, could it be fuel pump? or what could it be . HE was asking 7800 for the truck. What would it be worth with it running like this?

First thing I'd do is change the CPS. It's on the pass side, next to the damper, takes 10mm socket. If you have an IH truck dealer near you, get one from them, the black one, last price for me was 17 bucs in Lima. I carry a spare in the glove box.

take oil cap off see if it smells like burnt wiring
not sure how to check this one out side of swapping it out
I doubt because it shouldn't have started back up again but you just gotta check the fuse.
take lid off see if filter is full check fuel preasure with shcrader valve on the side of fuel bowl.

Check #30 fuse---controls IDM and fuel heater...if blown, disconnect fuel heater before replacing fuse and starting.

OK guys I talked to the guy he says it will start and run then just shut off. I am going to go look at the truck Friday. HE said he just towed a car from Maryland about two weeks ago and she has sit since and he has never had any issued before with the truck. This sould not keep me from purchasing the truck correct? Would you guys rate this low on the terms of concerns? I don't have the truck here but willing to buy from him the way it is if I feel I can fix her with minimal problem.

The UVCH will give you the same problems like your experiencing. Mine came loose on the drivers side only a 1/16" inch under the cover. You have to take the valve covers off to check them. The CEL will come on and go back off during running, but it will set a code if you can pull the codes.
