For some strange reason I can not find my bolts that I took out of my 7.3 when I removed the E40D. So now I need to find replacement bolts where can I get them? can I use grad bolts? If so what size are they?

Ya need six bolts, IIRC, there 1/2" 13NC I think 4" long, use a grade 5 or 8. If that's not right, they do have a 3/4" hex head.

Find a wrecking yard like a pic n pull. Take what you want from any idi engine. I do not recall the length but they are as posted. 1/2x13 threads.

I think they are 2 different lengths. If I get to the garage I'll measure a set. They are 1/2 NC.

Off the top of my head, I'd say 1-1/2" for the top 2 and ~4" for the other 4.... but that's just a guess.

I would get a couple different length and see which fits best then take the other back, or just keep them. The top 2 are through holes, so as long as you don't go so far that bottom out against the back of the block behind the adapter plate (over 1" of thread) you should be fine. You want at least 1/2" or so of thread engaged for strength. The other 4 are blind holes, but I think they're 3/4" or so deep, so against 1/2" or so of thread should be fine.
