Transmission rebuild

The auto transmission in my 2001 7.3 4wd looks as if it needs replacement. The truck tows a 44' 5th wheel fairly often. Would I be better off rebuilding my unit or going to a company like Factorytech for a swap out. The tranny shop I've used in the past will be about $3000, that includes replacement of all electronic and wear components. Any ideas or options? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I'm in N.Y. so he is about 1200 miles from me so dropping it off is out of the question. I did a few searches and it sounds like he does a good job. I'm going to give him a call today to discuss options. Thanks again.
