I have a JCB Mini with a Perkins 3 cylinder that won't start. It give about one good crank and then very turns over very slow. Seems like a simple dead battery but the battery is only a year old and I have tried jumping it with my truck with 6 gauge jumper cables still no good. Also, current meter says it is taking over 400A, that seems very excessive for a little 3 cylinder.

Any ideas or should I just buy a new battery?

Nevermind, pulled a battery out of the truck and it started right up. Apparently the 6 gauge jumper cables aren't as good as I thought.

or--the battery had a short in it bad enough--that the juice just WOULDNT go thru--been there before--
