I'm at my witt's end, I've tried everything, now the damn ball is popping out of the top bj. Now what? The bottom joint is loose. this is a dana 50 with the crappy sheet metal knuckle that just dents when you whack it. the pickling fork wont go it any further because the ball is now popping out.

I borrowed the ball joint press from O'Reily's. It was a $130 deposit and I got the full amount back when I returned it...

Or are you talking about the stud of the ball being stuck in the knuckle? That requires heat usually...

It finally came out after literally hours of beating on it. I hit it so hard that the camber deal started pushing out the bottom, right after that it popped. now I have to get a new camber deally and figure out if I can adjust it to match the original. I'm going to take pics here in a bit.

There are many different bushings for different degree requirements for camber/caster FYI

I'd suggest cleaning of the offset bushing and determining what the specs are on it. Usually they are stamped on the side FYI

Hope that helps.

Oh and if you've got a front end rebuild going, you can add new problems to an existing thread instead of bouncing around all over the place ;Poke just helps keep continuity to project and problems however don't feel you have to do it that way either!

We are here to help whomever however we can!

Keep the problems coming we'll get ya through it!

yes, should have done that. decided to just take the camber adjustment apart and bend everything back as close as possible. Going to get an alignment once i'm done anyway. Got the old ball joints out and the new ones pressed in, hope it goes smooth from here on out.

Going to merge all these other threads to the rebuilding my dana 50 thread. Thanks!
