if all goes well im going to put a fresh fuel system on my truck in a month or so and i was woundering if there is anyone around hear who has the proper timing tools that can help me set the timing. thanks

Not that I know of Jonathan. I did have Oldmisterbill's ferret adaptor for a bit, but not since the summer. The closest free timing opportunity would be the Rally. But, you'll have to drive a bit to get there.

Hi Jonathan, here is help from a fellow John, Google shows me just about 2 hours from you, I am right off I24. I have the Kent Moore using pulse timing, I have a lummy probe but never used/tested it yet. I even just bought the IP turning tool last night on ebay, Heated garage too.

depending on how far off the timing is,it could be cheaper by leaps and bounds,even if the price to rent the meter was 4x that, considering the price of fuel and how long the timing should remain accurate.
consider this too;
timed by ear and go advanced too far.
oops there goes a set of 8 Beru glow plugs,that cost you $80 a pop (at discount online.)
not to mention what too far advanced could do to your piston wrist pins etc.etc.
