Hi, please let me know if this is not allowed. I recently bought a Kent Moore J33300 timing tool and was using it to time my engine. I didn’t have any issues with it. I followed some very good instructions in another post and everything was going well. In order to time my pump properly I had to remove the injector lines and adjust them so they weren’t too torqued while moving the pump. Well once everything was back together I started the engine and powered up the J33300 and the screen started to flicker and now it’s stuck like this anytime power is applied. Did I mistakenly destroy my tool somehow? I posted a pic, if that doesn’t do it justice I can post a video I took if it’s allowed. Any help is appreciated.

Try hitting the reset, if I recall ' bottom rt rocker that resets itself.

Hi thank you for responding so fast. I just gave that a shot, pressing that rocker or pressing and holding but nothing. The screen is still flickering random numbers and letters as if something got fried. You don’t happen to know anyone that repairs these do you?

Oh cool, thank you. I was trying to google a phone number for Kent Moore not realizing they were bought out. I’ll call Bosch corp tomorrow and see if they can help me.

Do you mind if I ask… Were they helpful in repairing yours? Also were those repairs recent or years ago? I’m hoping there’s still someone working there that knows what these things are.

Not positive but probably 5+ years ago.
But at the time they were still making the kent.
I'm going to see what I got 4 ya...
They were great, actually replaced a red screen for me then fixed a dead one later...

That wasn’t too long ago. I’ll post an update after I call them tomorrow. I’m staying hopeful that these trucks are popular enough for them keep the parts around. I really appreciate all the help. If you think of anything else I appreciate any info you can give. Thank you!

Update: I called about ten different Bosch corp numbers. All nice helpful people but each one gave me a different number to call until the last woman I spoke with told me they don’t have it in the system, so they wouldn’t have parts to make any repairs.

I guess that means I’m on the look out for another reasonably priced Kent Moore J33300. I have the injector clamp and the magnetic crankshaft probe so all I need is the main tool itself. But if anyone knows a reputable electronics repair shop in the Southern California area please pass their information along. I would rather try that first before buying another tool. Thank you for all the help.

If all else fails.
Hit up the junior college, find a tech nerd...
I'm going to see if I've got a number shortly.

Thank you for sending that info. I called the phone number and it seems to be disconnected. I do live near a city college so I’ll give that a shot.

I think the des moines store does all the repair work. Ive had them do some stuff. Seems like the last few times I called them they didnt want to actually fix anything.

That’s a bummer, sorry to hear that brother. I just got off the phone with Nick from the Des Moines repair location and he was helpful. I explained the issue and he thinks they would be able to fix it. He gave me the run through of pricing and what would happen if they weren’t able to fix it due to any failed proprietary components that aren’t available anymore. I found a local company that may be able to repair it. If not I’ll be shipping it out to Ag express. Thank you all for the continued support.
